ABOUT US
Bob Kellert and Mary Cockriel are the owners and trainers of The River's Edge, Inc. Bob and Mary are considered the subject matter experts in the horse business as The River's Edge has produced numerous World Champions in all divisions!
The success of their business is believing in and living the philosophy of the United Professional Horsemen's Association. Bob and Mary share their knowledge of training and their philosophy with other horse trainers daily, wanting everyone to be successful in business, and sharing this great sport with the public. Bob and Mary have both the UPHA Chapter 19 Horseman of the Year more than once, with Mary winning most recently in 2011. Bob's most recent award is the 2010 AMHA Golden Reins Award. These are just a few in a very long list of awards for both professionals. They have met the goal of UPHA over and over again, where their students and assistant trainers go on to become professional horsemen and have opened their own successful business continuing on in this great sport.

Their philosophy of TEAM = Together Everyone Achieves More, is what has made The River's Edge one of the top horse businesses in the nation. TEAM includes: the horse, owner, grooms, lesson instructor, vets, farrier, and other horse trainers.

Highlighting one of The River's Edge team members is lesson instructor Kate Jensen Vieyra. Kate started riding at the age of 5, and was a student of Mary as a child. Kate is a World Champion equitation rider, winning three titles in 1995, including: the UPHA Challenge Cup National Champion, the NHS Good Hands National Champion, World Champion Saddle Seat Equitation, and reserve AHSA Medal National Champion under the direction of DeLovely Farm. This set a show record that very few equitation riders have ever achieved in this sport! Kate became a client of The River's Edge in 1996 and joined the team as the riding instructor in 2005. Kate knows that in all sports the philosophy is practice, practice makes perfect. However, as a World Champion rider herself, Kate's philosophy is perfect practice makes perfect, which is why she keeps her riding lessons shorter than 30 minutes.
Bob Kellert is one of the best in hand performance trainers in the industry. He loves driving in the Roadster division, going as fast as possible! Mary Cockriel is one of the best at matching the perfect horse with the rider, making a successful show ring team. Mary loves showing the young horse for the first time in competition. Kate is one of the best instructors, producing future equitation champions who will follow in her footsteps. Kate also loves showing her own horse, ECP Scandalous.
